Issues Being Experienced by Kids Not Getting Enough Exercise

Even though the habit of exercising in kids is gradually normalising, a large number of children are still not doing an adequate amount of exercise. It is important to understand that children who skip exercising and fail to maintain fitness are bound to face various implications in the future.

Why your child isn’t exercising
It is not common to see kids exercise as a part of their daily routine. There are various factors affecting it. Some of these factors are:
An unhealthy obsession with gadgets, and prolonged time spent on the screens has an impending drawback on the health of the kids.

Urbanized and sedentary lifestyle has led the kids to survive in a fast paced life, wherein their hectic and cram-full schedule makes it difficult for them to take out time to exercise.

Constant academic pressure.

Due to improper nutrition intake and lack of sleep, children lack the energy to invest their time into exercising.

Many kids do not have the advantage of going to local parks or live in unsafe neighbours due to which, they lack the opportunity to exercise.

Issues Faced by Kids Due to Lack of Exercise
Here are some of the major issues experienced by kids who do not get enough exercise:
Kids can become prone to many health related diseases such as stiff joints, coronary heart diseases, varying blood pressure levels, obesity, unusual eating habits, poor postures due to muscle tightening, cardiovascular diseases, breathlessness, osteoporosis, inertness, lifetime risk of developing diabetes, and other chronic diseases.

Sedentary lifestyle can lead to kids battling with early signs of clinical depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders.

Kids can get affected by cerebral atrophy or brain atrophy. This happens when the brain cells shrink due to lack of brain cell formation. Symptoms of cerebral atrophy include difficulty in communicating, loss of motor control, dementia, and seizures, along with many more.
Their brain development and physical development slows down. This mostly happens due to factors like limited movement of the arms and legs, stiffness in the limbs, lack of muscle movement, lack of social skills and communication skills etc.

Kids who do not exercise regularly are more prone to developing diabetes or immoderate blood cholesterol levels. They also have the chance to grow up with weaker muscles and bones.
